Monsterpocapalooza 2009: Tear up the Town!

Does your venue have what it takes to win a special Monsterpocalypse Series 4: Monsterpocalypse Now launch event from Privateer Press for your local game store?

Two competitions in one, Monsterpocapalooza challenges stores and their players to create a fun and entertaining video promoting the store's upcoming Monsterpocapalooza event for Monsterpocalypse Series 3: All Your Base. Stores will post their completed videos on YouTube and send in submission forms to Privateer Press. Players will vote for their favorites to narrow the field down to the top 10 store videos, and Privateer Press will select the winner from those top 10 player favorites.

The winning store will be treated to a huge launch party thrown by Privateer Press for the release of Monsterpocalypse Series 4: Monsterpocalypse Now. We'll send out Privateer Press crew members to shower the winning store with amazing prizes, food, and goodies to help make its launch of Monsterpocalypse Now one monster of an event!

But that's not all! We want to see how all your amazing promotional work paid off when you hold your Monsterpocapalooza event for All Your Base. Stores that submit videos of their events to Privateer Press will have a chance to win an exclusive "Full Metal Mega" Cyber Khan from Series 4: Monsterpocalypse Now! For the top three store events as judged by Privateer Press, we'll send out this amazing figure for every participant who registered for the winning store's event on www.privateerevents.com.

F.A.Q.

Is there a specific event type that must be run with Monsterpocapalooza?
No. Monsterpocapalooza events can be run as any official event type.
Is the Monsterpocapalooza contest open to International Stores?
Yes. Monsterpocapalooza is open to any brick and mortar store worldwide.
Does the video submission have to be submitted by the store owner where the Monsterpocapalooza event is being held?
No. Contest videos may be submitted by players, Press Gangers, or store owners to Privateer Press. With the store's permission of course. Note that the store MUST be registered for the Monsterpocapalooza event through www.privateerevents.com.
Will fair-usage copyright laws be considered for both the promotional and event video submissions?
Privateer Press does not have the capability to determine if any entry utilizing copyright and/or trademark materials that are not owned outright by the entrants are fair-use usages. Therefore, Privateer Press will assume that any entry is an original work of the entrant. If it is determined at a later date that any entry has used copyright and/or trademark materials in their entry without permission that would be a clear violation of the General Rules of the contest and result in a disqualification.
We plan on having music playing at our event and I was concerned that it would disqualify our video if it is heard in the background during an interview or shot.
Privateer Press assumes that the entrant is performing its due diligence in accordance with the law in all matters. This includes obtaining permission to publically transmit any copyright protected music during the course of their events. If you wish to have a soundtrack in your films we suggest talking to your musically inclined friends or contacting local bands who are usually more than happy to supply their original works to film makers for the publicity.
If music is used in either video that we hold the rights to use, is there some way we can submit paperwork to extend the rights over to Privateer Press so that our video can still qualify without raising concern among the Privateer Press legal department?
Privateer Press assumes that any entrant owns the rights, or has obtained the right, to any copyrighted material that would appear in any entry for both contests in accordance with the General Rules. Entrants should be prepared to show evidence that their works are original, or that they have obtained permission to use others works, should it be requested of them.
Also, are all Privateer Press trademarked images and names open for usage in the videos?
Privateer Press has granted permission to use Privateer Press, Monsterpocalypse and its associated copyright and trademark properties for the creation of these entries. Thanks for asking!
